Google results
Hello,
I am running a website where 80% traffic come from India and all are coming from Google. I couldn't figured out because when I type the keywords on google website it shows my website on 8 or 10 page. Today I made an experiment i opened this site http://www.google.co.in/ and typed keyword I wondered my site was not only on first page and listed first but i also saw 6 site links. Tried all my keywords my site was ranked first. Now when I type same keywords in Google US region I don't see my site in even page 7-10. I have no backlinks from India and I am not avoiding indian or asian traffic but I want to appear my website in all over the world. Any suggestion what steps should I take to optimize my site for other regions? Thanks |

Although there is no guaranteed way to rank in other regions. You can try the following.
1) Host your website on a server located in your desired country 2) Get links from sites within your desired country |

Its possible (though unlikely) that with the google webmaster tools your site was set to be in India, which could cause results like this.
Most likely you do well against folks in India with those keywords, but folks in the US have out-optimized you. |

You will find that local variation in SERPs position is the norm. It depends on what the locally targetted sites are doing.

there are almost 8 sites that always display on first page no matter from where you are searching.. and I have seen their page rank is not good but they stand on first page.. I checked back links few of them have PR 5 and 6 links but not relevant links.

How many/how relevant/ and how strong are the site pages that link to you from the US? That could have something to do with it.
I have a great site that kills in the USA with thousands of US links and with 1 link from an Australian site. I don't see much Australian search traffic. You may need more. Also, How relevant is your site to US visitors? I know a lot of people in India that build sites for Americans but miss the mark hugely. Not for lack of SEO, but because the site is useless.

My site is 100% relevant to US visitors rather its the need of every country I am not sure what kind of sites are Indians developing for US people.. but my major concern is to keep my site on 1st page. Like others have. My site is well optimized and i see positive results in certain European regions. What are the most important things to consider when buying a backlink? Assume backlink site is relevant to your content. |

Consider it's worth once the site you're buying from is reported and your links are devalued. Do it the hard way and it'll last. Use some elbow grease. |

One of the key is Global link popularity. Make sure your content is universal and your site is attracting links worldwide and your site linking out to sites in other countries also. But this appears to be a Geographical issue, try to check your Google webmaster tools and remove geographical preference to India if you have done that before.
