Google question?
Google question?
Question: If you have a site in google say in the top 10...The dance starts..your server crashes so your site is down...Spider comes your site is not up....about an hour later your site is up once again... Google already spidered once and you lost your rankings..when it comes around again will you regain that ranking again or most likely will they drop... |

There's normally no problem if your site is down for that short a time during the dance. The problem arises when your site's down during the deep crawl, and it's rare that this happens at the same time as the dance - normally it starts a few days afterwards.

I still don't think you're in trouble. The real problem occurs when the site is down precisely at the moment the deep-crawling Googlebot comes round to index all webpages ready for the next dance.
That hasn't happened yet. If it follows the pattern of previous months it will happen anytime in the next 15 days, most likely the second week of February. Gringo. |
