Google keeps posting "not found" crawl errors for pages that doesnt exists anymore.;(

Google keeps posting "not found" crawl errors for pages that have not existed on my site or

    server for over 6 months.

    My site is (shainex(dot)com)

In webmaster tools account, I found some urls are going to 404 not found but these are text

    link on third party site:for

    example:

    ((dot)abc(dot)com) 29-Jun-11
    but webmaster treated as a - ((dot)abc(dot)com/29-Jun-11)

n these links are from directories n boomarking type sites.. If the third party site is

    having some alignment problem and

they cant show the complete url in one line then why it is showing in crawl error section? Y

    it is broken link?

    So, my questions are:
    1. What can reasonably be done to cause these errors to stop appearing?
    2. Any thoughts in terms of how long these errors will continue to appear... months/years?
    3. Is there any way to contact Google and have them cut this nonsense out.
    4. My site has also been out from google, is 404 error is the reason for it.?..

bit complicate to understand your question at some point, especially the example you shared.

anyway instead of giving specific answer I'd give you generalize idea how it works...

When Google is crawling your web pages and found nothing at the any URL , it returns it as a 404 error in webmaster with date it discovered.

Now this list of errors doesn't update frequently even if you have already solved errors. So always check the discovered date and actual status of the errors.

404 errors can be handled by these three ways...
    1. Restricting them by robots.txt
    2. 301 redirects all the errors to respected new pages or home page - Recommended
    3. by returning custom 404 page

thing you should consider while you have number of 404 pages.
    1. It shouldn't be in the website navigation
    2. It shouldn't be in the sitemap.xml

your website is still in Google index for your reference... may be you are talking about the ranking... if so, you have to do SEO for that.

sounds like you need to 301 redirect the pages that have gone away. if you can't get to the htaccess file use the <link rel="canonical" href=""> tag to repoint the traffic...

Or if the pages have been deleted, as chiragparekh says, remove from your site map, amend your robot.txt.

The best option would be the 301 IMO.

Are you talking about the broken links found in other article and bookmarking sites where you submitted your site sometimes back?

The best way to correct these error is to use 301 redirect to some relevant page or to your homepage.
