Google Issue
Hey all,
My asp.net site has been receiving hundreds of network unreachable errors from visiting Google bots.
I contacted my hosting company about this issue and received this answer:
"Dear customer,
All our web server will recycle the application pool at a specific time on everyday. During the recycling, all site will be down for few minutes, normally it will take less than 5 minutes. Therefore, if google run the test at the same time as our recycling period, you will receive the error. If you can find out what time for google test, we can change the recycling time to avoid the error. If you have any question, please contact us again.
Thanks. "

Is this normal? I have been waiting 2 months for these pages to be indexed and they have not.
Here is another message I was sent:
"Dear customer,
In windows server, the application pool must be recycling to avoid the application pool freezing that is caused by memory leak. Even in the newest windows server 2008, Microsoft is still using this recycling system to avoid the problem that is caused by memory leak.
If you want to minimize the effect of application pool recycling, you can upgrade to VPS plan. Then, you no need to shared the application pool with other users, so your application pool will not be effected by the memory leak of other user's site.
If you have any question, feel free to contact us again.
Thanks. "

I don't think this is very uncommon. I've heard of servers rebooting which will bring a site down temporarily. I have not been able to determine its effects but I have seen similar errors in GWT.
