Kindly let me know how to remove my old page from google cache. I have rebuilt the complete website but its showing 2 years old webpages. I have added all new keywords, added a new sitemap for last 2 weeks now but i don't know what to do in terms of removing old pages and getting my new pages linked. i m not sure how often googlebot is crawling my website either.

Kindly some one help me out.

If you missing page really returns 404 error you can try to remove it from google cache using automatic URL removal system. This is usefull if you have only few old pages.

Much Appreciated Claul.

Well, One thing i'd like u to know is, i am using my hosting's custom 404 pages. would they do the same job?

another thing is kindly name some URL removal systems. I have never heard of them before. How would they remove URLs from search engine's cache system?

Regards,
Sunny

If you have custom 404 pages set up make certain that they return the correct header (status) code (404 - not 200), otherwise the page will remain in the index unless you (manually) request removal (which is what claul was talking about).

Meanwhile - when you remove a page you should (always) add a 301 redirect; that way - even if links remain in place to the old url - it will be removed/replaced with the new one.
