Google indexing problems.

OK I have a flash based website at dreamstormdesign .co.uk . My page ranking as a site of about 5 months old is 1, which im happy with. The problem is that indexing for the site is appauling! Under Google webmaster tools everything is fine and Google states no problems at all.

If you do a search in google for dreamstorm design, my site is way way down at the bottom and some link pages that i use with a ranking of 0 appear above me? By the way, Yahoo indexes me perfectly.

The other thing is that google has taken it upon itself to index my swf files as well. I have tried to remove the url from being indexed but it wont let me! Any Ideas anyone???

I may be misinterpreting what you're saying, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you're saying indexing and placing a site in the SERPs are the sam thing when they're not. If the pages of your site show up when you do a site search (google site:mysite.com), then you're indexing fine.



A site's PR does not determine where it will land in the SERPs; the quality and quantity of its backlinks do. Even though you may have a higher PR than those other pages, if they have even one awesome link where you might have several low quality links, then they'll outrank you in the SERPs. You need to work on getting higher quality links; these need to be relevant to your site and use good anchor text.

Are you using a robots.txt file? If not then upload this robots.txt file to the root directory of your server containing this syntax:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /*.swf$


After uploading the robots.txt, log in to your Google webmaster tools account then remove those swf pages in Google.

It will take up to 5 days to remove this from the index based on my experience.
