    Google Indexing Old TITLE Tags

    Hey everyone,

I am now experiencing a new issue with one of my sites. I recently changed all of the Title tags for all pages within the website.

The problem is, is that when I search for the indexed pages within Google (site:www.example.com), the search results come up with the OLD Title tags displayed on the Google Search Results Page. Although, when I select a page from these results it does in fact bring you to the website and the updated Title tags are displayed throughout the website as expected. Has anyone experienced this before? Does this mean that Google is not recognizing these updates? I hope I am explaining this right. I want to highlight that it is only when viewing the search results on Google that these old Title tags are displayed. When visiting the website, all of the updates are displayed without issue.

This wouldn't make sense to me since NONE of the pages were indexed prior to making these updates. This is so frustrating. Does anyone have any advice....I would greatly, greatly appreciate it!!! Thank you so much in advance!

it takes time for Google to change stuff on your website

it depends on the authority of your website.

have you resubmitted your sitemap to google?
    have you pinged it?
have you put in new backlinks with anchortext that have the new keywords?

So, the pages were not in Google's index, then you changed the Titles, now they are indexed but the SERPS are displaying the old titles?

If that's what you are saying I don't think it's possible bro. You were in fact indexed prior to making the changes and Google is displaying the cached version. This will work itself over time, one of the best virtues of SEO is patience

    1. how long have you been waiting?
    2. have you added any new backlinks with the new keywords?
    3. have you added any new content to get the bots visiting your website?

You are correct! I should have said in nearly every case...

Caching is not directly related to indexing, but unless you torqued the Google Gods, my advice stays the same, be patient and it will work itself out over time.

    that's not good advice

getting backlinks with new keywords will help speed up the process.

if you just sit around and be patient, then you'll be waiting for a long time
