    Google Going Deep, or Shallow?

    Hi,

I've noticed some interesting spidering behavior over the past few days with Google...

My sites that were initially bounced by Google, and then subsequently recovered, have experienced deep crawling.

On the other hand, my sites that have not recovered in the past few days, and are not even on Google's radar, are barely being crawled at all.

This may be an obvious observation...But I think Google is "playing" with its algo still and is doing this to select sites in high competition keyword areas.

I think given time, and the next general update, other sites will come back, but right now, Google seems content to test its new algo on a select few....

Not to get off the subject, but does anyone know of an application besides like web trends, that shows you which keywords came from which engines, and which engines have index your site, and possible which page each engine crawled?

I use awstats now, i like it alot.. but i'd like to have a these defined a bit more and budgets cant include web trends unfortunately, thanks guys.
