Google dance

Hi,

Just want to know if google dance is going on at the moment. 3 of the sites that i am optimizing are having problems. Homepage of all those sites have vanished from the search results however they are showing up fine when i do site:
What could be the problem? or its just a temp thing? usually i very calm with these things but 3 sites at the same time.

Is this something to do with 3 way links i've been getting for them? 3 way links are inbound links only and should not harm the site in any way.

Any suggestions?

Does your website show up when you do search domain or domain.com on google search box?

If yes then you are still fine maybe just a glitch from Google else you will have same sort of penalization being placed by G on those 3 sites that you have.

I see G! Dance but not Rock n Roll yet!

Red face

Yes site shows up fine on domain search as well as on site:domain.com and all the inner pages are showing up on search results however homepages have vanished. Maybe its G dance and nothing serious.

One of the site that was ranking #1 on a competitive term is now on 28th and too far down for other terms where it used to be in top 3.

Any suggestions?

According to my analysis, this week G should doing some changes on their algo and you will see the impact next week.

I've been watching google footstep for past 2 years that is how i jump into the conclusion about this week changes.

For those of you who had the same problem, this isn't over yet. It could be just a glitch that G has.

If this domain of yours just drop the ranking for no reason, it could be few factors:

1) Your contents are old
2) Your website lost Authority from G! (are you using any automated query to google from your website)
3) Your link being devalue by G!
4) Check to see if someone try to harm you by doing PROXY HIJACKING! or Create duplicate content to replicate your site.

It could be one of those few factors. Do the check list for your website.

It all looks very reminiscent of Florida 2003.
Took a lot of sites out back then, about this time of the year too.

Same thing here! Inner pages still ok for search results but my home page has dropped right down for searches it was showing up in the top spot for.

Can anyone shed any more light on this?

No. Google stopped the "dance" in 2003 when it moved to continuous updates.
