    Google Crawlers

I had a situation today where the question came about as to which link would be better for an internal link?

    is it?

    <a href="">anchor text</a>

    or is it?

    <a href="/breadcrumb/breadcrumb/breadcrum">anchor text</a>

Does the bottom one have a higher chance of being misinterpreted by the Google crawlers?

reminder - this is only for internal linking

Best to use the exact URL. Even though any spider will be able to find the page regardless of the method you use, the exact URL is best.

I'm not sure there is a difference for Google with internal links, but I am sure that the full URL will never have any interpretation issues. So I use full. Plus, depending on your CMS, you could face some issues if you move content and folders around at any point. I just usually take the extra 1.5 seconds to type in the domain.
