Google Can't Find Today's Hottest Website

Without getting into the politics of it, Google News tells us today there are over 730 news articles mentioning the "Muntada al-Ansar Islamist website", which is attributed to have posted today's infamous beheading video.

I have spent 2 hours looking for it on Google, and elsewhere. I am not a ghoul, just a media freak.

    What am I missing here?
When is a website a website? When it is on the web? Maybe not.

Does ANYBODY know the URL, which is NEVER MENTIONED by any of the articles?

What kind of "news source" quotes a website, but won't NAME it?

Thoughts, anyone? (about the website, NOT the act, there are plenty of places for that.)

It takes a few weeks for Google to index new sites, right?
We need instant indexing. I think Google is working on it though with freshbot.

CNN does that all the time. They will mention a news source but not an actual link.

Maybe they dont want to start any /. waves.

It only takes 2 days to index a new page.

"Muntada al-Ansar Islamist website" has been around for awhile. You may not find the video page BUT there should be a homepage unless it was thrown up and than taken down.

    Disbelief Growing

I searched for the website, not the act, so recent indexing is not an issue.

I too, have seen that they have "been around" for some time.
I am starting to NOT believe it, however.

Where is the URL? NOBODY can find it?
I'll bet that there is an SEOChat member who can find it.
    Here's a new competition.
    Where's the alleged URL?
Underground? Stealth? Doesn't exist? Never did?

I wonder what would happen if a webmaster were to put the phrase -
    "Muntada al-Ansar Islamist website"
on their index page, and have it indexed by tomorrow.
There just has to be 1000's of others looking for it, also.

    Also, try qa'la.net, also mysteriously invisible.<edit>Google found it- www.qala.net/ - won't load though</edit>

Maybe this is an English/Arabic translation issue. I bet if you had the phrase in Arabic you'd have more luck.

    Angry

As rz would say, 'you guys have not been paying attention in class.'

If you were reading the forum posts lately here, you would see the effect new pages have on the SERPs.
Lets get one thing straight here:

I'm sure that the islamic website that you're attempting to find is not "SEO'd".. lol. Therefore, any CNN pages or anything would push that site so far out of Google' index you'll never find it unless you know exact keywords in both languages.

"As rz would say, 'you guys have not been paying attention in class.'" hmmm. maybe I'm missing it too. Isn't he talking about an established site with new content?

There have gotta be a million bloggers hooked up. What do you say it's #1 by Friday if it exists?

The site won't be SEO'd. You'll never find it in the mass amounts of garbage on the internet right now. You may be able to find it come Friday, yes.

    Yes, Foghorn . . . . Yes, Zero

Let me say it again -
"I searched for the (established) website, not the (today's) act, so recent indexing is not an issue."
I searched for "Muntada al-Ansar Islamist website", and many of it's combinations and permutations (did not try Islam extremist, though ... don't know what else to try).

The issues, to me, are :
    1. Did the website ever exist ("they" say, "years")
    2. Does it exist now?
    3. What is the URL? Of any part of it.
    4. How does an essentially identical statement replicate itself in 100's of online articles, within 6 hours, with source attribution unnamed, unavailable and unquestioned?

Please excuse my inexperience. Aren't we seeing forum posts and profiles in the SERPS? SEO vs Links, I got a buck on links in the first.

Might be interesting, select a couple of keywords maybe Muntada al-Ansar, when's it gonna come up? I guess I'm locked in on Friday so I'll say 12:00 noon.

    More Peace
