Google bot visits
Can anyone tell me the average time it takes for google to recache your page(s)? I add new content daily, but it looks as if it is taking more than a week for the bots to come back for a follow up visit. If this is slower than usual, can anyone suggest ideas on how to improve this turn around time? I do update content daily and I do request link exchanges....I am wondering if there is something else.
Thanks.

If Google thinks that your site is not so important Google will cache/visit your site once a month or even longer.
The more quality inbound links you have, the more important Google will deem your site and the quicker your site will be re-visited and cached. Rather than lots of link exchanges (which can hurt if you do too many), try to get some quality, relevant, inbound 1 way links from well trusted websites. Your doing the right thing adding new content. Google views new, original content as a good thing, and this will contribute somewhat to the variables within Googles algorithm which will enable your site to get re visited more often. |

There is no finite or determinable time frame for Googlebot to visit your site.
There are a number of things you can do to increase the frequency if Googlebot visits. Here is quick list in no particular order 1) Add an XML Sitemap and regularly add your new content to it. 2) Get more links 3) Have a random section on every page that puts up a short text caption, link and image. This changes every time the site is accessed and increases indexing frequency. 4) Check Google webmaster tools, make sure your indexing frequency is set as high as possible. Usually you can't make it more frequent but you should check it 5) Resave all your files and upload daily, this means the lastmod date received from the server will always be different so indexing frequency goes up. 6) Add more content. 7) Make sure new content is easily accessible not deeply buried. 8) Use social bookmarking sites to submit articles. Fresh content is usually indexed quickly when sites like digg.com are used.

SEOGoat is right, it depends. If you prove yourself to Google your site regularly updated and valuable content, then it will visit your page regularly. Take note that adding content daily does not mean your page is important, it is when someone out there that links to your page naturally makes it important and Google knows you are updating daily ,then it will recache at a more frequent times.
