Google bot program
Hi guys,
I was wondering if there is a google bot simulator on the net where I could type in my url for my new forum and see if the forum is google bot friendly. Thanks in advance for any replies. |

There are simulators to see what the bots see:
A spiders view of your site: http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/search-engine-simulator.shtml I had a link to a better tool but it seems the site was taken down.

Some other online tools:
http://nikitathespider.com/start.html http://www.gritechnologies.com/tools/spider.go?q= http://validator.w3.org/checklink http://tools.summitmedia.co.uk/spider/ Nikita tries to crawl all of your site (this can take days) and gives you a comprehensive report on problems. The gritechnologies link lets you see the links on each of your pages so you can try to find outdated ones or other problems. w3.org lets you do pretty much the same. The summitmedia spider finally gives you an SEO score for a page of your website based on a simple scoring system (How much text on the page? How long does it load? etc) and also shows you the links going out from there. And of course, there is always a good old text browser such as Lynx. Seeing your website as text only often has some surprises in store. |
