Google Analytics Settings

If I set the setting "E-Commerce Website" to yes on google analytics will google penalize me?

no it won't hurt your rankings...I use it on a couple sites and I saw no change when I activated that feature.

you can set convertion & get all information about convertion ratio, sell, sell amount (if you set $ for your goal) & lots of info for ecommerce sites.
