Flash based home page
My client has a website having the home page totally in flash. No menu items are there, only a link "Skip intro" pointing to Main product category page, is there. When the flash run completely for 25-30 sec, it automatically redirects to the Main product category page. Client does not want to change the home page, he does not want to have any menu, any content, any footer on the home page.
My question is that:
1. Is it a good idea to promote the "Main product category page" in spite of the home page?
2. We can add only the meta tags in the home page, will that do the enough as the domain is quite competitive?
3. Is the "Main product category page" inner page considered equivalent to as the home page while ranking in Google.

note...re: "...All pages are equal in Google's eyes...." what kernel means here is that all those pages NEED to be able to be read by the googlebot....
and Flash pages can't be...

Has your client got any kind of Analytics installed?
If so take a look and work out the proportion of visitors to the homepage that click the "skip intro" button, it's most likely such a high percentage that you should be able to argue that the intro is pointless and just an annoyance to most visitors.
If they still insist on it, then change it so that the homepage has the content of the main category page, and have the flash piece run in an overlay when someone first visits and then closes the overlay, Googlebot won't play the video and will just see the HTML.
