Duplicate content question
If I publish other writer's articles on my blog, but I also tell people the original writer and where did the article come from, will this be judged as duplicate content? And yesterday I read a adsense book saying that using some other's content to build your own website content, is that good?

However you are not taking the author's right and showing the original source on your site. but if you are using already published content at somewhere, that will be counted as duplicate in the eyes of search engines. Because search engines only crawl the content and they will find same content at two places

yes you can copy but its better not to copy it word by word.. other do the copy but just a summary then create a link going to the main author or publisher..

You seem to make a confusion about legal aspect (fair use, copyright) and how Google proceeds to display results that best fit the user search request. Google does not care about copyright infringement (whether you link back or not to the original content): that's lawyers job to do that.
Instead, Google tries to identify the original source of a content in order to not display too many duplicate answers to a specific query, and the way it filters out some pages greatly varies according to the nature of the query.
If you are looking for news, you will notice that the filtering is pretty loose: try a search for an Associated Press or Reuters news like this one and you will find exactly the same content on several online news websites.
No filtering at all in this case, because that's the nature of news releases to be duplicated (most of the time, the websites pay a fee to the news services).
Outside of the news business, rules are different and Google try to avoid showing too many duplicate pages. But even if site A has been identified as the original author of article XYZ, site B which displays exactly the same content may be filtered out of the SERP for request "KW1 KW2 KW3" but still appear for request "KW4 WK5" because its links profile is better optimized on these keywords (or is considered as "authoritative" for these keywords).
There's nothing like a "duplicate content penalty" that will definitely ban a site from the SERPs: that's a per query filtering, not a per site or per page filtering (unless the site has been clearly identified as a spammy site using exclusively scrapping and spinning in order to manipulate the SERPs).

Thank you for your replies. I want to boost the content of my new blog by using the other's contents and holding a rewarded article contest to solicit articles as many as possible. Is this a good method? If not, anyone could tell me a better method? Thank you in advance.
If it is good, then I have another question, what can I do to attract participants and writers as many as possible? I want to let many people know that I am holding a contest, but I don't know what is the most effective way to do so. My website is in the wedding field, so yesterday I found a big wedding forum and posted a notice that I am holding a contest. But after about 30 minutes, my post was deleted by the forum editor. What else should I do? Press release? I look forward to your good advices.

Either start learning to write unique content or hire a copy writer. Guest blogging can be a solution to add quality content, but guest bloggers generally are looking for reputable blogs with a lot of readers to put their articles on.
I've seen guest blogging contests organised by famous sites like problogger. If you want more information on guest blogging, try AnnSmarty forum, and read the rules.

You can use content if the copyright permits you to. However, valuable web site don`t copy content. In the least they will LINK to the content when they mention it, but they never copy--it would be duplicate content and your web site would receive nobenefit from it.

Saddest part of the internet now is 90% (my opinion) of sites are mostly copy/pastes from others. Very few original sites with completely original content. Google doesn't care about copyright infringement but does care about exact same content all over the place. Change up the article in your own words and you should be ok.

In order to find your answer you may like to take a look at the way article directories are functioning nowadays. Some copies appear on tens of websites and even if they are listed by Google, most of them may be dropped from the pages after a few weeks. If your website is going to talk about some useful points mentioned on some other sites, you can easily add a hyperlink using the relevant anchors to them from your content pages.
