Duplicate Content! Aggrrrhhh
I'm trying getting to the bottom of the mysteries of why a clients site isn't ranking. Then you ask them if they have any other sites and they say yes. I look at their other sites and they have exactly the same content on several domains lol. I wish I knew this before.
So I'm thinking they need to change this content because Google isn't going to index several sites with the same content, they will pick 1, right? I just wanted to get other peoples opinions. Thanks

Ofcourse, You are right pal..!!
But whats the question?? btw, yes get the content changed, point one or two fresh links to it, it will be indexed within a day or two..

Thanks for the support on that one.
What do you think of different sites putting up the same products called the same names? I think the best thing they can do is keep the product name the same and try to add a unique description for them. |

Thats right again, You have the right picture on what needs to be done. Product names being same is not a problem, but eventually a similar product listing sometimes causes a problem.. sometimes only.. Unique description sorts that one out..!

Are you sure the other domains dont just point to the main domain but keep the url the same.
If they have 7 urls one of them must be indexed. If they have brought 7 hosting packages along with 7 urls this still shouldn't stop one of them being indexed. |

I had one like this a short while ago, had a ninja duplicate site they decided to wait 3 months to tell me about. Because the extra site was superfluous for my particular client, I did 301s from the pages of the dupe site to the corresponding ones on the real site. It's been about 4 months since and it worked out fine.
