Duplicate Content Again...
There is currently a thread up about duplicate content, but rather than hijack that thread I was hoping for some advice on my situation.
Recently I noticed via WMT that we had 60+ pages on site had duplicated title tags. It should never have happened, we fixed it, and within a few days had some really significant improvements for a lot longer tail keywords across a the product categories in question. It was the easiest increase in traffic in my limited SEO experience.
We also have 70+ pages of duplicate page content for products that are essentially the same but come in a range of different sizes, colours etc.
So now I'm wondering what kind of an impact I might expect from rewriting the product description on each of these pages to be totally unique. Descriptions are 300+ words, so it's no small job. I'll probably do a small product category and test the results anyway - I suppose I'm just a little impatient to know whether this will have any significant impact. Cheers.
