Duplicate content
A little question for you all.

I have a website with 100 Pages. I want to add a recent news section to the bottom or sidebar of each page.

Would google consider that duplicate content or spam?

for example if a new client signed up for my service I want to add that to the recent news section that would be at the bottom of every page. It would contain a little bio written by me. It would be original content but spread across my site. Any ideas? Thanks!

I would go for it. If you add this as a widget or sidebar item and do not have a dedicated URL for each item it won't really be that big of an issue. Your keyword density might be decreased but you should not let that stop you from making the site the way you want. Good luck finx!

Duplicate content applies more to situations where the majority of a page's content can be found somewhere else on the web. If this is to take up only a small portion of your pages, then you have absolutely nothing to worry about (provided you do actually have content on the pages ).
