DROPPED! Does God hate me?

OK. I give up. I usually like to figure things out on my own, but after 2 months, I can't find out why my site went from #3 while searching "Werner sucks" to... I don't even know how far down. Far. I still exist to Google but I am invisible to find using any of my keywords. I cant figure out why except maybe God or Google (are they the same person?) hates me.

Interestingly, I went to #1 on yahoo for the keyword "werner sucks". I am guessing I am being punished, but for what? I don't know.

It's quite normal.Some have increased and some have dropped.That depends on google.

Im assuming that phrase is pretty uncompetitive, yeah God does hate you but that's not why you don't rank 3rd anymore.

How old is your site? Probably Google's new site (temporary) boost, why you were even 3rd in the first place.

You'll be 1st in no time all you need are more backlinks to your website with the anchor text of the phrase you want to be top for.

As that phrase is so uncompetitive you can probably get 1st by doing aload of free one way directory submissions.

Type in link building 101 into the SEOChat search box.

I have found it much easier to rank well in yahoo. Google seems to weigh links as the most important factor. Get more links is all I can say. It is frustrating but at least you are doing well in yahoo. Keep plugging along. God doesn't hate you. Google maybe... but I think google hates all of us sometimes.....

Different search engines follow different rules, you can be praised in one but punished in another.

I suggest to prioritize your efforts, if Google traffic is important to you then focus on it.

Thank you all for your kind suggestions and advice. I followed none of them. Today, as a habit, I googled one of my key words.
Suddenly, out of the blue my website now exists again!

I believe that I have inadvertently stumbled upon perhaps one of the most important SEO secret discoveries ever.

Just like God, you can't just have a conversation with Google. So what are we left with? PRAYER! Every day when I awake, I google my key words with the FAITH that some day I will again gain favor with the Lord/Google. I figured it out! This is the same as praying! Just like with God, If you pray enough and have faith, Google WILL ANSWER!!!!

So there you have it.

Okay knock off the sarcastic remarks about God... this is SeoChat, a forum for discussing Seo, not sarcastic irrelevant dittilys about God.
If your not ranking there is a reason for it, if you want to discuss that and try and get to the root cause then we can do that but if you want to complain and believe Google "hates you" then I can lock this thread and you can start a rants blog.

Have you read my sticky "I have lost my rankings..."? - If not please do so, then let us know why or why not the information there may or may not pertain to your situation.

I am interested in determining causes for ranking losses, not interested in hearing you gripe about them. So if I come across strong that is why.

You didn't ruffle my feathers... you must understand most people on this forum will see nothing wrong with your post. And I guess aside from the fact that it was an unproductive post there was nothing wrong... I just don't appreciate that kind of humor.

I just get sick of people complaining about a "serious" situation when they are doing nothing to remedy that situation. Don't tell me how bad Google is and then tell me you have no time to implement changes to your site... maybe if you weren't writing lyrics you could find time to work on your site.

Firstly: God doesn't hate you, but Google might.

Secondly, I do'nt know which god ur talking about, but the way I understand it, faith and prayer need to be correlated with....get this, ACTION.

So to say that God rewards faithful prayers who do nothing but sit by their computer and play WoW is untrue.

Thank you for that insight. I have in fact, completely rewritten my site after it dropped, changing everything from the tone of the content, (including specific language and phrases, etc.,) to implementing probably 10 SEO techniques garnered from several credible sources. If this is sitting by my computer playing WoW, then I am guilty as charged. I thank you nonetheless for your positive, insightful and timely feedback.
