Driving me mad

Hello everyone

I have never posted on here before to be honest i have never had too as each time I need to know somthing I read past threads and get all the answers i need, however on this occassion I have no idea what to do next.

I have a small ad agency who over the past couple of years have managed to gain a number of clients looking for help with interactive marketing.

The client I am trying to help increase a Google postion with is a compny who sell stag and hen weekends in the UK.

I have increased page saturation and also the number of inbound links. I have requested a couple of hundred links from page rank 2 and above simply by asking.

I have also spent money with text ads and also review me, however everything I am trying to do seems to not help at all.

We managed to gain postion top of page 2 for a couple of weeks and yesterday we ended up on page 3. Even thou we are always increasing links and the number of pages on teh site.

If anyone can give me any advice I would be a very happy man.

The keywords I am looking at are stag weekends and also hen weekends

Web CEO says the site is written correctly H1s title tags all correct.

Erm I not sure what else to say apart from Thank you for reading and I hope you can help.

Paul

Without seeing the site, I suspect either (or both) of two general problems:

1) The competition is still a lot stronger and the backlinks you got are not sufficient to reach and maintain a position higher up in the SERPs

2) You've got problems with your on page optimisation. For instance, your site is there as domain.com and www.domain.com or maybe www.domain.com/ and www.domain.com/index.html and the links you get are for one of the versions but Google still ranks the other one higher. Check your linking structure, the Google Webmaster Tools for any apparent problems, check whether every redirect is a correct 301 permanent redirect.

Hope that helps you a little bit!

I am using text link ads and review me to increase the serps

I know a few of the other site are a lot stronger but the sites around the bottom of page one seem to have less links and less pages.

thanks again

Google has also slapped some sites for using text link ads that are paid for. If your onpage optimization and internal link structure is solid then it is just a matter of time. If you list the domain name I can probably tell you what the deal is.

Also relying on programs such as WebCEO can lead you down wrong directions. If you are using that program for gaining backlinks or generating pages, that can leave a footprint that will get your site penalized as well. Use tools like WebCEO as a basic guide and a learning tool at best. I wouldn't count on it as your main tool. I t can be a decent tool for showing you what to look for and how to interpret some things about your site but once you have a handle on that, I wouldn't use it.

Does your own internal site linking take advantage of keywords - or does your own site suggest your index page is only important for the word "home"?
