Codelobster
Anyone tried Codelobster PHP edition?
Its one I regularly use, has highlighting dependent on language, auto formatting for cleaning up your code, has the "file browser" option for inserting images and also highlights (in bright red) code errors such as unclosed tags etc.
Its basically like Notepad++ but I prefer Codelobster as it seems to be geared more towards webdev.

There absolutely nothing wrong with using Dreamweaver. Apart from all the features it offers that have already been discussed I find the split screen mode an extremely efficient way of quickly finding the code I'm looking for by clicking on the particular element from wysiwyg screen.

I used to use Dreamweaver many moons ago and can appreciate what people see in it, its a good learning tool and a great way to see what affect your code changes have on the site, I just find that coding by hand using text editors gives you a better feel of what is really happening under the hood, it also helps you separate code and presentation which is the sign of an advanced web dev.

ya ever notice that most folks think that the "use" of a tool whether to them or for clients etc...is what they like about the tool...
and totally ignore the RESULTS of the "use" of that tool?
in other words I hear you, all of you, who've offered that you like using DW for whatever reason...
but what not a single one of you DW defenders have even acknowledged is that while the tool "uses" greatly - it's HTML generation stinks -- for gosh's sake open up a DW site page and look at the gunk therein....
that's what I'm talking about....not the "use" but the RESULTS!!!!
Jim
PS I'm done here. I can't get you DW or any WYSIWYG defenders to realize that the output of same sucks....

The point is Jim, Dreamweaver is a powerful piece of software that can improve productivity - but designers and coders need to be aware of its limitations in regards to wysiwyg.
