Dozens of sites lost ALL se Traffic

Hey everyone!

This is a plea of help from a community of webmasters that lost their seo traffic recently.

WARNING: It is an adult community so please if your under the age of 18 or it is inappropriate in your community to look at adult websites refrain from doing so.

To tell you the truth guys were pretty desperate, there are a few dozen sites who lost all their seo traffic over the past month, and were trying to figure out what it is with no results.

We do link alot between each other however there are no link buying or selling at all.

some of the sites that got penelized are:
kaktuz.com
girlsfromheaven.com
girlfriendvids.net

some of the sites that didnt are :
f uckzilla.org
damnbang.com

If anybody has any suggestions, please please please help us try and figure this out.

It would be greatly appreciated. if you have any questions post em here or msn me at: sns_vg [at] hotmail.com or email shliqadmin [at] gmail.com

Ill be checking this thread very often . Thank you for anyone who can contribute their experience and knowledge.

i was ranked #1 for "Sex Videos" and "Teen Porn" for girlsfromheaven,
kaktuz was ranked #3 i think for "free porn videos". girlfriend vids was #2 for Amateur Sex Videos if im correct.
Now we just dropped out of the index completely. we have a thread 10 pages long on iq69 of people complaining about losing all their seo traffic.

Hi gr8girls,

Welcome to SeoChat

Thanks for adding the "Adult Warning" to your posts, I will just reinforce the fact that these sites are seriously adult and "sensitive" SeoChat members should avoid them

I run a bunch of Adult sites myself.
I have noticed a whole lot of movement recently; in fact over the past 12 months but more so in the past 4-6 weeks, ('though for me the movements are in the "right direction" so I'm not complaining) but it may be that we are simply in the midst of a major shuffle/change in Googles treatment / indexing of adult sites and more changes may be coming (or - in fact - these changes could be temporary).

I've been running both adult and non-adult sites for more than 6 years and have been an SEO student for most of that time... Over those years I saw a lot of things which led me to believe that Google treats adult sites in a very different way from "mainstream sites"; partly because of PR capping/devaluation and partly because timing of many updates and algo changes seemed to differ completely (in timing and effect) between my "two sets" of sites!

In a lot of ways I think that Google struggle to rank adult sites properly, because the industry behaves very differently from any other (one good example is that there is far far less - in fact virtually zero - free one-way linking in the adult industry).
There are many other things which make the industry "unique" in SEO terms and I have my own theories about how and why Google have reacted in the way that they have... but I don't want to go theorising...

SEO people will tell you that excessive interlinking with other sites, too many link exchanges and/or paid links will all cause you problems; you and I both know that - in the adult industry - there are few other options and these things are "the norm'"... unless of course you own and operate a few hundred thousand adult sites - located all over the world - and can create your own huge pile of "one-ways" and doorway pages/domains (which many adult webmasters do).

I don't have much time but I looked (breifly) at kaktuz(dotcom) and I see that you have over 7,000 indexed pages, but that lots of them have identical titles/descriptions (which is not good)! I wonder if you subscribe to Google Webmaster Tools? (If so you would have seen a warning about this).

You said "We do link alot between each other"... If that interlinking runs to multiple interlinks between two sites, you might find that the links will be devalued but ordinarily you wouldn't be penalised.

One possibility is "bad neighbourhood sites" (ie: If you link out to any sites which have been deemed "bad neighhbourhood" and either removed from the index completely, or heavily penalised) you - in turn - could be penalised.
In fact it could be that one of your sites has been penalised for a specific problem and that all your other sites are suffering because they link to that one.

I will take a longer look when I have time, meanwhile think about checking sites you link to (including your own) to see if any have been completely de-indexed; if so remove (or "nofollow") links to that site and see if that makes a difference.
I would recommend you change the identical page titles.
Also either change - or remove - the identical meta-descriptions (having none will not hurt your rankings, having lots of identical ones can).

Emerson agrees: Also I am amazed why those webmasters in the porn sites do javascript redirects (with random target
URL effect) to other different sites. This results to poor user satisfaction. Oops.

Sorry to sidetrack. I am facing similar problem now. A string of sites got completely kiced out of google. Please review my sites in this thread: forums.seochat.com/google-optimization-7/huge-problem-with-my-network-of-sites-and-google-208141.html

They are not adult sites though, but more of affiliate sites. And they do not interlink to each other. However, they are interlink to my blog.

Please review my sites and tell me what went wrong and how to get it back on google.

Bear in mind that free advice is limiting advice... no one will dig deep into your problems without you addressing their problem... e.g. "like you they must make a living".

That said: Occam's Razor - The simpliest explanation is usually the correct one.

A bunch of sites owed/managed by the same organization all disappear it once - whatever the problem it is related... so look only at things they all share.

While that could include "content" [e.g. duplication] this is unlikely... something remains "links"... OH

LINKS - linking to yoruself is "VERY BAD" - for a few reasons...

1. if you have a external problem from a "bad neighborhood" you guess this could be a problem but you'll likely never find it 'unitl you dumb all your own links'

2. Your interlinking could be the problem itself - in fact it likely is.

3. You can have dup content so long as you don't link... but duplicating information and then linking it is a sure fire way of losing traffic based on ranks... why would anyone want to receive they same thing they already have? ... they don't they is purely a manipulative practice.

4. If your ranks were primarily based on the interlinking [It takes a while for Google to see this to kill it] you will likely never get back the ranks you had... you probably will see an improvement but not a return to previous positions.

They are all de-indexed already. Meaning that they will never be back on google?

...only if you never figure why they were dumped, remove the offense, and ask for them to be reincluded.
