    domain names and subdomain names

    :
How does google take the subdomain names into account?

Looks like on Alexa, domain names and subdomain names are sharing the same PR.

But it doesn't look like it with google (I have subdomain names that perform better than the main domain name regarding google PR).

    Hi!

as said corretly I would say subdomains play an important role if they considered a different domain altogether.
if you have a look at big portals they do have subdomains for different businesses.
I think directory submission of subdomains it depends to the editor that he finds different business from parent domains.

Google treats every URL uniquely so these are different...
    www.MyDomain.com
    MyDomain.com
    SubDomain.MyDomain.com
    www.MyDomain.com/index.html

ALL four are looked at as a different domain by Google God.

So, let's say that I have a website selling products :

    www.mywebsite.com

At the product level, you land then on www.products.mywebsite.com/product?id=1&etc......

This is going to be hard to get these pages indexed since :
    1) google doesn't like this kind of urls
    2) I will have to work on link popularity, PR, etc ... for www.products.mywebsite.com as well as for www.mywebsite.com!
