Do you think prominence is absolute (number of keyword in first X words) or relative?

    As in:

I have an 85% relevance of keywords. Will both of these help?

    - moving the keywords closer to the top of my page.
    - adding a bunch of non-keyword text to the bottom of my page to make the keywords relatively higher.

    What do you think?

    Explain in more detail

McMaster are you refering to a prominence score on a keyword density checker ?

Are you also suggesting a keyword list at the bottom of a page to increase the promince score?

I will try to answer when i understand the question more

I mean this *thinks about how to show it*:

Okay, first, assume that when I say 'etc etc' I mean ten words that don't include the keyword. If I say 'blah blah blah', I mean approximately one hundred words that don't include the keyword. This are VERY SIMPLIFIED examples, so don't yell about 'you need more body text' or 'your prominence calculations are off by '.1%' or anything - I'm just showing a point. Sorry for the poor examples.

THIS page would have a density of a little under 2%, and a prominence of about 90%:

keyword 'etc etc' 'etc etc' keyword 'blah blah blah' (that is, keyword, twenty words, keyword, one hundred words)

Are BOTH of these pages better, prominence-wise? Prom/Density Checkers say so, but I mean realistically - does Google actually give you a 'percentage score' for your keyword, or does it just weight the first 50 or so words more, regardless of your total page length?

keyword 'etc etc' keyword 'etc etc' 'blah blah blah' (that is, keyword, ten words, keyword, one hundred and ten words)

keyword 'etc etc' keyword 'blah blah blah' 'blah blah blah' (that is, keyword, twenty words, keyword, two hundred words)

    Thank you for your help!
