Can you please share your experience on what the effect on a websites local listings rank is when you select "Do not show my business address on my Maps listing"?

I selected this for my service business and now my listing is completely absent from local results for a number of keywords.

Will it take a while for my business to re-appear in the listings where it was before or have I been penalized permanently just because I don't have a store front?
