Displaying News for SEO?
Hi all, how's best to display news on a website for SEO purposes. Essentially i want to create lots of new content on my site on a daily basis so that Google visits me more often.
Should i just write news in plain html with dates next to each news item? Or should i maybe add a twitter widget to the site too?
I'm trying to find the most valuable tool/widget or way to add content to my site so google loves me lots!

I would suggest using a CMS, Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, any of those are fine. They are database driven, they timespamt articles and archive them. Plus the structuring is ideal for SEO (atleast from MY personal experiences).
I believe the publish dates are meta tags, but could somebody confirm or clarify that?

Display news for users if you have something newsworthy. If you just trash out some nonsense you aren't going to attract any users to your site. And users is all that matters.
Don't buy the crap that posting just *some* content, andloads of it, on the site is going to improve your search engine rankings. Each spammers or splogger can generate a lot more content every minute than you can manually create for a day. Playing the "quantity" game is a dead end.
Add Twitter widget if you have interesting tweets. Otherwise do not.

Cheers, i am fully aware that i can't just add a load of rubbish to the site as news, sorry if i came across in a 'spammy' sort of way. The news is all relevant to the content of my site and the users visiting my site. The site is geographical too so the news is even more relevant.

In this case, great, go ahead and publish the news. It's not really whether they will be in HTML or dynamically driven, but using some software will probably make it easier for you.
