Disappeared from index
Hi, new to forum, go easy.
Our site has completely disappeared from the google index, well not quite true we are #1 for our company name and domain name but we dont rank whatsoever on any of our keywords as far as I can tell. Over the last 2 months or so the following has happened for our primary key phrase Page 2 Page 3 Page 6 Page 1 Page 10 Page 13 Not in index I really dont know what happened, i've been through googles quality guidelines over and over again today and cant find anything wrong. What do I need to do, any help appreciated! Thanks |

We have been adding pages each day, mainly news/blog pages, also new pages are added dynamically when new products are added etc. The url is leasing options (uk domain) and our primary keyphrase is "car leasing" Thanks a lot |

well I'm familiar with the contest in the uk for that key phrase, but I'm guessing it's pretty big. if your is new maybe it was a correction for your site's stand in the search results. which page you appeared with this key phrase ?, how long the site is index in google, why wont you just give us the url? our answers would be better :-) |

How old is your website/domain?
I need to tell you that the UK market is amongst the most competitive markets if not the most. I have been fighting for a term three months now and the ranking is still fluctuating between page 3 and page 10 unbelievable, if the website is not still ranking well in Google.com and Goolge.ca I would say it was penalized. P.S. I have associated the website using Google webmasters tools to UK.

The Google results have been fluctuating like mad lately. I have seen major bouncing for some of our less important terms. I would do a link audit. See where you links are coming form and where they are flowing to. See if the terms you are seeing changes with are on pages not getting a ton of link equity. If so you might be simply feeling the pain of small algo changes

Just reading your problem makes me think that it is a simple case of your website appearing in the SERP's and than disappearing to a spot where its hard to find it. In this case, my bet is that your website is new. Correct me if i am wrong, but if thats the case, then your site just experienced a boost due to being new and than settled to a spot where it fits the best. Just keep on working on your targeted keyphrases, things will fall into place.

This is mostly a symptom of accidental blocking in robots.txt or no index tag. I have experience this before. Please check if your robots.txt is blocking the bots access to your homepage. If you do not know, just type this in the browser: www.yourwebsite.com/robots.txt replace www.yourwebsite.com with your exact website domain URL. and paste the result here if you like. |

That's an odd, odd keyword to be monitoring...there is huge amounts of flux there. One firm I know of smashed into the top page from nowhere then slipped back to 2nd page but with a domain that they'd not been using for two years. |

Nonsense.... They're all getting tougher, but from a site by site hand to hand, UK is a puff cake...lol (ok, that is a huge exageration, but I been wanting to use puff cake....lol) You may want to post your site for review in the review section to get some opinions on your on site SEO. This would be the wrong place to ask for that. Relative to your back links, I looked at only the first 100 and a lot of junk blended in, which is reflective in your PR3 Vs. the #1 sites PR4. (like to call that static. nothing wrong with having it cause it throws peeps off on where the real link juice is popping...hehehe, but you gotta have the good stuff) As you're trying to rank in UK results, how focused has your back link campaign been on relevant sites actually hosted in the UK? I know someone here mentioned a lot of flux going on over the last couple months and that could be part of the cause. As most of can agree we are headed to tight geo targeting, if you want to rank in your market, you need to narrow your target down a lot better. I am going to assume (no significant research) links like this: http://www.ferretexpert.info/all-about-Straw.php are not part of your strategy. These footer links look to be part of a linking scheme which very well could be just one more reason you're tanking. They've been identified and devalued to zero, hense, site drops. Now, if i'm looking at the wrong site, then I do apologize. just my 5 minutes looksy
