Different kw's for PPC and organic?

Hey guys, I did a lot of researching on kw's, one thing I am noticing is that a company can have
PPC adword kw's and organic kw's which can be different, can anyone tell me why this is so please? Or
why not one set of kw's for both organic and PPC adwords?

Having same keywords for organic and PPC is kind of pointless while you run a PPC campaign. PPC will outperform your organic efforts anyway so you might as well try to rank for other KWs with organic seo.

    Not really.

Assume you land on a SERP and click on the PPC Ad... How often do you go back to SERPs so you can click on the Organic Listing?

Now you are a person that wants more information so you click on the Organic Listing. How often do you return to click on the PPC Ad?

It is best to do both simply because these cover different markets.

But to answer the original question... With PPC you need to address your quality score to rank, and that also means to rank cheaper. The differences between PPC & Organic promotions are enormous.

Yes, you can have two set of same keywords for PPC and organic campaigns. The problem are, PPC will allow your ads or products to display much easier compare to organic, for example: in Google Adwords, if you are selling "red roses", and your Ad Rank scores are high -> based on your bid + Quality Score (expected clickthrough rate, ad relevance, and landing page experience), and the expected impact of extensions and other ad formats, your ads will probably show up in a very good Ad position.

But in organic, it's totally different. It's going to take time and a lot of SEO efforts before you can have good SERP for your web site targeting the keyword "red roses".
