Decrease in Hits for many sites noticed...
I was doing a little research on Alexa to see how my competitors or other industry related sites have been performing.
It seems that almost all, without exception, are showing a downward spiral of hits over the last year, and mainly in the last 6 months. I checked a couple of other familiar websites and noticed the same. Google is usually everyones main source of traffic, so wondered if this more of an SEO than economic factor?. or am i just imagining things?... thoughts?

Did you search 'all' industries? Maybe Google trends (search for it if you don't know it already) helps you to find out whether the overall search volume has decreased for given search phrases...
Of course, the effect could also result from changes within Alexa or the users that have the alexa toolbar installed. |

Maybe its just that less people use the alexa toolbar nowadays..

ahhh.. my misunderstanding.. thought that Alexa was able to gather results regardless of their toolbar.
Having said that, i think the same trends show on google trends. |
