    Question Creating websites for backlinks?

    Hi!

So I've noticed a competitor of ours is creating websites, dedicated to specific keywords that are relevant to his product.

Somehow these websites are managing to generate a good DA score, even though they are a one page website with no more than 300 words on them.

    So my question is:

    1) Is creating random websites with barely any info but are stuffed with keywords on it a blackhat practice or is this perfectly fine?

    2) How are these websites gaining such good DA with barely anything on them or any links pointing to them?

Quite a noob to SEO so any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    A. Its grey and very much on the darker side of grey.

    Q. 2) How are these websites gaining such good DA with barely anything on them or any links pointing to them?
    A. My best guess without any other info is that they probably buy up expired domains and forward them to these satellite sites such that they have good DA and authority and as such rank well for the targeted keyword.

It may work however is a risky long term strategy.

It looks like a private links network to me.

You create a number of low-medium quality websites, either with expired domains or starting from scratch.

You then build a large number of low quality links pointing to them, not really caring if they get blacklisted from Google.

Each of the low quality sites normally points to the main content site of the network, building the authority of that site.

If can work well but you would be better off focusing on a single site building quality back links and content.
