    Contraditory Optimization Results

    Hello everyone,

Although a bit ambiguous since many factors might influence the SERPs here is my situation:

I've been doing some organic SEO on a local small business website for the past 3 months.

I initially used a free tool that allows to know the position of the website on Google/Bing/Yahoo SERPS against a selected group of keywords and also took note of the initial data from Open Site Explorer in order to track the development.

After 3 months I was able to grow the values of the Domain Authority, MozTrut, MozRank and the number of inbound links (not many but some relevant web authorities for the kind of business) of the website.
Against my expectations, when preparing a document with the results of the same group of keywords, about 80% of them are now making the website appear on the SERPS in lower positions.

Do you have any tips on why I'm having this contradictory results?

Hey KernelPanic, thanks for the quick answer, I'm not quite sure what you mean by personalized results.
If you're asking if I created my metrics, no. I'm using LinkAssistant to check the website position against the same keywords and Open Site Explorer to get the other metrics.

The best way for measuring the REAL results about your website is to use directory Google / Bing or the search engine that you want: other tools could be fine for link building suggestions, of course, but they shoud aim to contraditory results, because they exploit some euristics approach for computing ranking, different for the real ones. I hope having understood your point correctly...
