.com.mx or .mx: which is better?
I've heard different things about this issue but am unsure of what to believe. I'm going to be buying some Mexican EMDs and have the option of any Mexican tlds (.com.mx, .org.mx, and .mx). Does one of these have more ranking power compared to the others?
Cheers
Sean

Search engines don't care about TLDs. If you want your site to enjoy good ranking on search engine, You need to concentrate on following elements
1. User friendly and captivating layout
2. Unique, Fresh and quality content
3. Related high quality backlinks

If your website is country specific then yes domain name does matter. Local domains always tend to rank easily. Do you researh on which domain is preferred. See what domain google is using for their local site. Or maybe look at whats more popular and easy to remember in your country.

.info gets less priority compare to other .com, .net, .org and .edu.
If your targeted audience is Mexican then you should go with the local TLD

No issues, Just book the domain as per your business need. All have equal ranking power if they promote systematically.

It would be appreciable if you can provide some evidence here
Thanks a lot

ClickyB disagrees: The o/p already shortlisted 3 (Mexican) tld's... The discussion/question/choice is between those 3, not any/all tld's.
please better check to be sure that I haven't commented on OP's discussion/question/choice.
My comment was on following line. Do you still disagree?

country specefic tld are majorly meant for high ranking in local country. however this does not state that it cannot rank high when searched in .com .com.au .ie and so on tld's. if one is willing to get higher rank among a locality then country specific tld is far more effective as it gives search engine a clear indication of their prefrred location. i hope many would agree on this.

That was unclear... but since you asked, I disagree with your first line and agree with your second line (although I think you should have expanded on both)

Did you disagree on my comment out of habit or something... lol All I said was to get the domain extension that is more popular and easier for people to remember out of those 3.

No... I disagreed with your 1st sentence.

I realise it was somewhat picky of me
(although in fairness SEO is often about accuracy) which - again - is why I didn't take any RP's (see.. I'm a sweetheart really)
