    Checking Realtime Google Results

    Hi everyone,

    I'm wondering if theirs a site where I can actually query my keywords for Google rankings...directly to the databases with no caching, etc.

    The reason I ask is because I was doing some experimenting on my iphone, computers in different households, different browsers, etc and I get ALL different results for my keywords. I have no idea what source to trust. It literally shows my rankings on #1, #2, #6, #12, #8 all over the place for a particular keyword...so I have no idea where it actually is...very strange behavior.

    Any suggestions?

    Google shows different results to different computers based upon their location, the habits of people who use them and characteristics of the computer system and software installed on it.

    This is the new google.

    For the least tainted results, learn about personalized search and be sure that when you search you are not logged into a google service.

    Wow, I didn't even realize that about the google services. When I log out of my gmail..the results change for my keywords right away and when I log back on to gmail, the results change back. Very interesting...

    I hate the fact that I'm #1 on my iphone and number 8 on my PC when I search for my keywords! sucks big time!

    EGOL,

    I did another test. I logged out of gmail and google services..did the search and got my results. When I added &pws=0 at the end of URL, it changed the rankings again(which look more accurate when comparing to my traffic stats). What else could have been personalized? I suppose I can always add the &pws=0 at the end of the URLs to check it's real rankings from the outside world...

    I can't say for sure but I am pretty confident that cookies, the location of your IP address, and which browser you are using impact the SERPs. Sometimes I think your eye color is important too!

    Sometimes depends on what you've eaten that day. I know it sounds silly but I have tested conclusively on the subject.

    Bottom line: If you want to get ahead on google you had better start licking bacon

    Google believes in delivering more personalised results, which is why search results vary.

    You will get different results when
    - You are logged into your Google account
    - Search results affected by Geographic locations
    - When cache is not cleared
    - When search queries are passed to different Google data centers
    - Search variations (Mozilla/Virgin homepage searches may give different results than Google.com)

    How to check your SERP rankings
    *Logged out of G Accounts
    * Opted out of Personal Search
    * Use the same computer
    * Use the same browser
    * Use the same Search page
    * Use the same Search settings
