    Blog Tag Pages Optimization

Hello. My friends and I have a podcast and I am trying to optimize the site for SEO. My question is about the tag pages that link to shows under that tag (sorry, I can't post a link to the example page but my username should give you a clue ). I do not want to cannibalize my keywords on these pages and I do not want these pages consuming my internal link juice, but I do want them providing hints about the content they point to.

Should these pages be NOINDEX'd? They are all in my sitemap.xml so they should still get crawled, but I don't necessarily want visitors going directly to them. What would be the best way to use these pages in terms of SEO? I am in the process of rewriting the entire site so I can do anything to these pages. I would really appreciate some insight into the best use of these pages.

    Thanks,
    Michael

You will get much more targeted traffic from search by leaving those pages as they are (without NOINDEX). Internal pages with unique content are hugely important for SEO. Build some backlinks to them too! Don't be a control freak and try to dictate rigorously how users should enter your site, leave every meaningful door open.

On a quick look, you have a lot of identical title tags, an SEO mistake.

    Philip,

Thanks for the reply. I just published a our redesign of the site and one of the problems I fixed was duplicate titles. The home page has the generic title, but then the podcast page titles are all different and the tag pages are different.

Thanks for the advice and any other suggestions would be appreciated
