Article website section or word press blog on website??

    Hi all

Which would be a better option for google optimization?

Having a article section on your website and updating it with articles which I already have.

    Or

Installing word press blog and updating it? Which I donít have at the moment.

    Thank all

Depends. I have several websites, some have blogs some have article directories or "knowledge bases". First, can you install wordpress in a directory off your domain? Such as www,yourwebsite,com/blog Or do you have to have it as a subdomain such as blog, yourwebsite, com?

The directory approach is much better for SEO. Subdomains are often thought of as completely different websites. So if you get links to blog.yourwebsite.com the juice may not flow over to www, yourwebsite, com Also you can add/change keywords in your URL more easily in directories than subdomains. For instance:

www,yourwebsite,com/keyword-blog is better than keyword-blog.yourwebsite.com. For several reasons I will not go into.

Another consideration is how often will you be adding content. If it is not that often go with an article directory. It looks bad to have a blog that hasn't been updated in 18 months.

Note: i had to use comma's in the website urls because of the antispam rules of the forum board.

The answer is neither or either. It all depends on the quality and linkability of what goes on there. Wordpress is pretty easy to optimise on page.

You can do both with wordpress. Seems like the easier solution given wordpress' ability to manage content.
