I have noticed the loss of sitelinks for some sites for a couple of terms I watch. For example http://www.seotraining.org/ had a sitelink for seotraining (single word) it has both lost the sitelink and lost top spot.Originally Posted by channel5

Something shook up the results I monitor around the 19th.
One of my sites lost a great set of sitelinks. Wah!
However, it seems to me that some of the characteristics of personalized search are creeping into the general SERPs. I have a couple computers that are never used while logged into any Google service. The SERPs that I see on those machines are starting to remind me of how my logged-in SERPs behaved when personalization was first rolled out.
I think that the days of standardized SERPs are gone for good. Everyone will see something different now. Will be really hard to know your true rankings.

How much effect (if any) have you noticed on your CTR from the loss of sitelinks? (If you don't mind me askingOriginally Posted by EGOL

i also notice those site links... google made alot of changes on SERP..
Just on an anecdotal level, the sites I've seen lose sitelinks are also ones that buy lots (and I mean hundreds of thousands) of links.. but I'd be surprised if it was due soley to paid links.
I have a feeling we are going to see something pretty big in the New Year serps wise.
You always ask hard questions...... Google keeps swapping adwords above me, product links above me, both of them above me, none of them above me. My own adwords display above me and my own product links are sometimes above me.Originally Posted by gazzahk
But, I can tell you that people click on the site links because I see the root keyword search terms showing in the referrals of the sitelink's pages.
It looks like we're moving towards forgetting about SERPS completely and concentrating on content, especially if we can't get accurate readings these days.
I would imagine that this is going to make the work of a professional SEO a little tricky!

Yeah there is definitely some changes going on, and they look terrible for me![]()
Been watching from the sidelines. These changes have been creeping into google uk since about the 3rd/4th December on the sites and serps we monitor. I have nearly 3 weeks of data gathered and a pattern "seems" to be emerging but i need a lot more data to play with.Originally Posted by channel5
At first it was local shopping results occupying pos 3,4 & 5 in high comp 1 & 2 key phrase. Then there was video doing the same thing. News results have been the past week.
FWIW I am having totally phenomenal success with video on long tail searches. Pages appearing almost instantly in the serps then dropping off after a few days but this needs more experimentation.
Does this not vindicating what (bruce clay?)said in a video recently?
