Affiliate site at No.1

From what I've read about search listings in various SEO forums, (including this one), I've read that Google doesn't list affiliate sites. However, my affiliate site is listed at No.1. How can this be?

In my experience there's no difference in the ranking possibilities for sites selling affiliate products and any other websites.

Google is fine with affiliate sites. They just don't like spammy affiliate sites that provide no user value and are just a bunch of links.

Google calls those "thin affiliates". When I was at WebMasterWorld in Vegas, Matt Cutts confirmed that affiliate sites are OK as long as they have some value add - like product reviews, comparisons or some type of good unique content.

I guess if you are number one it proves that google doesn't penalise affiliate sites.
