    Advice Needed

I recently suffered at the hand of Bourdon, so I have got to work, got myself a LV account and updated the pages daily. Results show its beginning to climb, but not very quickly.

The site doesnt have and black hat techniques (to my knowledge) however I have traded quite a few links on linktrader and I think this might be hurting.

Should I delete some of these outbound links (or all of them?)

Would anyone mind taking a peek at the site to cast some views, (running out of ideas over here )

    thanks in advance

You definitely should stop linking to anyone at all. Believe me, in order to keep up with good rankings, you need not to link to anybody else even relevant websites.

I completly disagree. External links might affect the pages PR (i.e. - it will be split up amongst the links), but that has little or NO affect on SERP positioning.

Kasparoff please substantiate your theory. Sounds odd to me.

He's babbling incoherently. It's the second time he's made this statement, and he has made others similar to it, with no seo value to them at all.

The pity is that some poor seo newcomer can come see his posts and not know that he doesn't know what he is talking about.

They should implement negative reputation points for people like him.

As long as none of the outbound links are "bad neighborhoods" then your ranking won't change either way. It's like saying, maybe if I ate Wendy's instead of McDonalds today my search engine ranking will go up........They are non-related.

    Cheers,
I think some of them are in bad neighbourhoods and also some arent linking back, or when the do, the number of links on their page is massive.

If that is the case you have to determine the cost vs. value. If you aren't getting anything in return and the link is taking up premium real-estate on your site, then why keep it? It's pretty simple.....

Well, yes, if you doubt the link then pull it of course. I was just saying the concept of "linking is bad" was a nonsense one. Have you tried www.bad-neighborhood.com to see if any red flags come up?-Michael

I'm pretty picky who I'll link to. If they do some funky stuff with their link pages (very common not to want to pass on PR) or if they are banned from G I won't link to them.

    dave,

Obviously you are aware of how time consuming link building is, so why waste more of it linking to bad sites/neighbourhoods?

Just the same as learning to do on-page seo, you must also learn how to build links correctly.

There are a lot of garbage sites out there, so be carful not to just link to a site just becuase it may be slighty themed to yours or have a
bit of PR on its page's. Look at things a little deeper when searching for link partners and you'll find that your time will be far more rewarded.
