    Adsense websites

I am thinking abotu building an adsense directory/information website. Are these websites still profitable as they used to be?

Please point me to some adsense websites that rank high on Google or some that you own.

Any help on google rankings and adsense will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Some people, through their Adsense accounts, still make a lot of money. However, on average, the everyday site owner has realized a significant drop in income over the last couple of years. Google just does not pay like she used to. There are many reasons why this has likely occured.

To do well in Adsense you still have to have popular subject matter (keyword popularity) and place well in the SERPs to get the necessary traffic. Once you have the keyword traffic, it is whether you can get a significant CTR. Once you have the CTR... how much do you get per click.

Some are only getting pennies ($0.01+) per click. It will take a lot of those pennies to make a dollar or two. We currently make about 30% of what we did a couple of years back. The drop is due to Google paying out 70-80% less per click than before.

Bottomline: The Adsense revenue is ok and Adsense is still better than the others; at least for us Adsense is better.

You have to be very careful if you are using some kind of adsense website builder software. These do not work unless you stick to a proper plan and you know well about SEO.

2 years back, adsense was the easiest and highest paying affiliate program but then Google hit us all hard by banning all those software generated spam sites. On top of it they introduced Content search bids, so people could set lower bids for content ads and pay higher for google search with their adwords program. You tend to get more clicks from content than from google search. So its natrual that people set lower bids for content ads.

Adsense still works for those who know how to things right.
