    Add-On Domain Hosting & SEO

    Hi,

I recently signed up with a web host that offers Add-on domain hosting for unlimited domains. This allows me to host my main site: www.1st-domain.com and create a sub-directory to host www.2nd-domain.com, 3rd-domain.com ...

Given that all the sites hosted under the same account won't reach the space and bandwidth limits, I was wondering if such practice could have negative impact on search engine rankings. Also some the sites hosted under the account will share some common interests but they are completely different sites.

Say if my 1st-domain.com is for selling toys, and I create a sub-directory for 2nd-domain.com for a realtor, and 3rd-domain.com for job agency. Will the 2nd and 3nd domains negatively impact the rankings of the 1st-domain? Will the 2nd-domain.com and 3rd-domain.com suffer in rankings because they are attached to the 1st-domain.com?

Thank in advance for your help!

    Terry

Nope. They will be treated as separate sites. Be careful about interlinking between them, similarity of whois info etc.

Suf is right, also them being on the same IP, letalone the same C-class, can have some negative implications if you heavily interlink them. I tend to keep my IPs varried, one type of site/theme per IP/class.
