This isn't good https://www.jesmonddenehotel.co.uk/index.php, but this is worse http://www.london-england-hotel.jesmonddenehotel.co.uk

You could add overdone internal linking/anchor text and a suspicion of an indirect reciprocal linking scheme....

I agree with glengara.

You have duplicate content one on http://www.jesmonddenehotel.co.uk/london-england-hotel/
and other http://london-england-hotel.jesmonddenehotel.co.uk/

At footer you have overdone it. Use limited links if you want but use it wisely. Your internal linking is also not good.

I advice you to work on your internal linking and try to remove any duplicate content on two different pages.

My website was coming some where in 1st page consistently for almost 2 yrs in google. But whatever happened between Apr 7 to 10 has caused the www.yatratravel.com to be pushed to 3 page(optimistic) upwards (it has hovered in several pages that I am unsure). Interestingly if I just type www.yatratravel.com - the index page is listed in 4 - 7 th page. That is causing concern that google is penalizing the website for reasons best know to them. Further, there was a drastic change in the number of results for yatratravel.com from 700 in march to 44K now with actual improvement in reverse direction as far as the free google traffic and search results. Does any one have any idea what happened? I initially thought it was due to big daddy. Now am unsure what went wrong and what has to be done to get back into google's 1st page. I have already hit the panic button and am trying to see if classifieds will help. Does any one have any idea what actually happened between Apr 7-10?

Ok I have removed the london england folder, completley and remove the page footer linking to it.

When you say my internal linking is not good, have you got any suggestions?

I would suggest you to keep that folder and remove the subdomain. I had done the same thing with my site and it worked. Folder makes a difference then subdomain.

As for internal linking i meant the anchor text. use it but dont overdo it.

ive already deleted the folder as well as removed the sub-domain. There was nothing of importance just a copy of the site.....

Most of Yatratravel pages are supplemental, I'd suspect due to insufficient original on-page content.

glengara,

Thanks, that makes me feel a little bit better, but it's hard to just wait around having no idea what's up. That is what really pisses me off about this. You never know what the freaking deal really is. Don't you just love guessing?

Mike

*Don't you just love guessing?*

I do actually ;-), make a point of looking at all the "my site dropped in G" threads I come across, still think your linkage is the main suspect.....

Hi - I wish I knew my friend... I also see no reason why I was moved to page 6 yet competitors did not move. Some say it has been happening and our positions will return. It won't happen fast enough.

Hi Glengara - I am not sure what you are asking, please advise - thanks!

Can you please elaborate on that? How do you say most of the pages are supplemental? What has to be done to rectify that?

*Can you please elaborate on that?*

If you put in site:www.yatratravel.com, results from 66 on are supplemental, haven't looked at why that might be though...

*..please advise..*

Contains the term results shows where the Url appears on a page, usually but not necessarily in a link.
There might normally be a 1/10 discrepancy between the two, but 1/1000 is unusual.
