Exclamation 3 way linking and google

    Hey

We run a few sites and just started a directory now this is a paid directory but we give users a free link in exchange of a reciprocal link

now would it benfit me if we offerd people signing up for a reciprocal link a 3 way link

now i understand that most of the links would not be a theme link but are they better then nothing

or is there an other way of doing this

    thanks for your time

    Rick

Sounds like a scheme, which they all fade with time in terms of value adding SEO. What I'd do is create a helpful relevant site and people will find it and link to it naturally. If you try to scam or shortchange the processes, chances are if it works it will only be for the short term.

OK... here we go... you're a few years late to the directory party, recip party and even the 3-way party... don't expect to get any real return that can be seen in 2009...

Your best bet is to close shop now... but hey... let's jump back to this thread in a year and see how things turned out.

forget about two way/three way links. Even forget about trying to get backlinks. It is so 2008

Follow Himanshu's three simply hard steps to get success, once u ve done the basic on-page optimization:

    1) Develop informative, interactive and useful contents for your target audience regulalry.

    2) Do social media marketing of your site. Its very effective. Remember no matter how good ur product is, if nobody knows about it, nobody will buy it.

    3) Run paid ad campaigns for few months and get large volume of relevant traffic on your website.

If your website gives value for your visitors' time, then u will be able to retain and monetise visitors. Not only this, u will get reviews from ur visitors (some of whom will be bloggers or webmasters), u will be talked about here and there on forums, reviews sites, news site, meetup groups, community sites and other sites related to your niche. Consequently u will get relevant backlinks also.

Note: Quality backlinks are byproduct of a Quality Website and hence cant be get through 'link begging'. if u understand this, ur link building problem is solved.

Most any links to your site will be valuable as long as they are on relevant sites and have correct anchor text. I don't know what the big deal is about the links being on a directory or being a 3 way link?

    Thumbs up hey

Hey thanks for all the advice

Now ive always thought that there is no such thing as a bad link as long as you dont link to them

Now if you got links from a fishing website when your dating site does that mean google will drop you from the serps if so why dont we all go round and spam the top 10 for any given keyword

i guess that a high traffic website have links from all over the place were users have put them look at plentyoffish/facebook/myspace users put links in there profile so how would that effect them

surly it looks more natrul to google when there is links coming from every were aslong as the high quilty themed one over weigh the random ones

hope that makes sense if not sorry but it is 5.17am on sunday morning lol

    cheers Rick

That is correct... but just like playing the lottery... there is only "1" grand prize... and lots of $2 winners [equate these to links of the highest quality to the lowest that actually help] and then there are millions of "non winners"... and these are the same as the links than don't harm you... so they ain't "bad"... they just don't help.
