3,512 URL in web index (Webmaster Tools) but only shows 460 in site: domain
The site page count in SERP keeps going down. We had 5,000 pages indexed until few months ago in site:domain.
It was 800 2 weeks ago, 600 a week ago, 460 in the weekend.
Now the number of pages shown in search dropped to 380.
Former webmaster submitted 37,908 URLs few months ago (sitemap xml gz).
I Re-Submitted 37,908 URLs a week ago (sitemap xml)
3,512 URLs in web index according to Webmaster Tools
but only shows 380 pages indexed when searching site:domain

When searching for content/URL of pages not included in the 380 pages google shows for that domain - no results found.


The www version redirects to domain without www

Please help me understand why the # of pages is only 380 and how I can increase it back to the thousands it showed before.

site:domain/search/ shows 844

in yahoo we had more than 2000 pages last week, now it's 45

Can anyone explain what is happening?

Also, anyone knows how to get a detailed list or report of the pages indexed in Webmaster tools ? ("3,512 URLs in web index" - different figures then site:domain)

It's never easy to determine if you're being penalized. What's even more difficult to find out is why you're being penalized.
