PR will be no more...
Hi everyone,
I was reading an article out there regarding Google recent updates and surprised to read this article: http://www.googlelady.com/500/google-rumors-google-pagerank-reset/ According to them soon Google PR will be changed to VR (visitor rating) in blue strip instead of green strip. Looking for you people reviews on this.. Thanks GSL |

Is this VR rumour still doing the rounds?! It's ALL complete rubbish.
Mind you, given the amount of attention it's received it does seem to be an example of what link bait can do for your site.

Even if it was made as a link bait...it was a poor attempt. I won't link to it from any of my sites coz I won't like my visitors to get crap information from my site. This is total rubbish!

1) Visitor rating:
Does not sound like an improvement of PR when it comes to fraud. And plus the other members are very certain that it's rubbish so I tend to believe them 2) Two clicks for AdSense: Quote:
I doubt that Google could 'sell' this idea 3) No more link: data That would be nice indeed. Removing all data from the Webmaster Tools, too? Don't think that they'll do it so soon after adding this info. 4) "dofollow": Ridiculous. All entirely legitimate links placed by people who don't know and don't care about SERPs would be ignored. Very convincing, eh? |

Sadly, even total rubbish can attract links -- though one would hope that at least quality sites would avoid linking. I saw this same article posted on the DP forums, and you wouldn't believe the number of people that took it as being useful, accurate information, no doubt some of whom trundled off and blogged about it themselves |

I read that they are experimenting with the ability to have the consumer rank things higher and lower within their own search results. At some point this might be used to influence rank, but using human filtering only would be a bad idea.

Letting visitors rank a site would be the worst idea ever. Competitors would just totally sabotage each other's sites.

It would just make it much too easy for your competition to slam you.

Well, I think features of that remains the same. Whatever the color is, users will still use that. |
