The "User Maintained / Generated Data" part of this patent really scares me. I uninstalled the Google Toolbar as soon as I read it. I don't like the idea that G thinks that the personal files on my system are open for their review. I can't imagine the general public taking it too well... and apparently, they aren't informed... at least not yet.

Don't uninstall the Google toolbar, it's useful

Just disable the feedback bit (that's including the PR indicator...)

Gasp!!! I'm going to have to re-read this thread a few times. I made several changes over 90% of the pages on my site, and I have seen page rank increase for my overall quite a bit. Great information, definitely some things to ponder!

That's if they even track it...I think a lot of those folks are sending out hordes of link requests in the hopes of getting a few linkbacks and never actually check to see if anyone linked back or not. There are scripts that will put the links on your page and then send out a metric ton of e-mails for you. pretty useless scripts imo.
