New Search Options

Has anybody noticed the new "Show Options" in Google searches?
Here's the options it gives you:
The Wonder Wheel option gives a very useful tool for developing long tail keywords based upon keywords related to what you enter. It even works based off searching your URL.

The timeline and recent results seem useful for keeping up with what's new on the web as pertains to G's index.

These options seem very valuable to a webmaster/SEO personnel, but what do you all think about how a regular user can benefit from this?

I can see it being good for them towards stocks and news, but what about products/shopping? Any thoughts?

Im wondering if it gives users too many options. I was a little confused as to what I was looking at and I know about the options (may not say much..haha) More importantly, I am wondering how you can optimize for these features and if it uses the same algo for each option or Google's general algo.
