Not sure what you mean... but everything is about profit... Look, most money given to charity is given cause it's tax deductible... not because they have an urge to be nice to other people, or feel they have too much money... it's the tax break. So yeah, for a company... there must be a profit thing involved in it... whatever the question was...

Also... does monopoly ring a bell ...

Is is possible to stop the competition between Search Engines? Is it possible to combine all of these SEs?

I give to charities, but not for a tax break. I do it because I believe the charities I give to do good work helping people in need. I make a good living and it makes me feel good to help others who aren't as fortunate as I am. I don't know where you get data from that shows *most* people give only because they need a tax break. By all means, share with us where your got data to support your assertion.

NewDelhiSEO agrees: but dont take that as a global rule. There are caring souls out there.

Have you not seen Jocelyn's sig? He is just saying from what he has seen and/or knows of this is how a large number of companies work (which is true is some cases) but I dont think he means you and everyone around are like the companies he's commented on

Yahoo is desperate not to go under. They are gradually slipping under the radar and their executives know this. This is why there are adverts on UK television right now for Yahoo, they are trying to become "hip" - They will never be able to compete with Google.

Google gets name dropped in so many movies and tv shows now that its become a household name. And microsoft is constantly coming accross as the bad guy because of their "shut door" attack on the market

it's not impossible, but i don't think that's gonna happen. google's revenue is high compared to others. i don't think google will agree on that.

Facebook
Yahoo is out (almost)

Yahoo has sold the SE part to microsoft with a revenue sharing deal. So no more yahoo search for 10 years if the deal comes to fruition. it would be BING thing. The competition is now between Bing and Google. Bing rose fast to capture more than 10 % of search market more because people wanted to see what MS has to offer and if its upto the hype. MS guys know how to create a hype. The investment in Yahoo SE buyout is a part of this strategy, and most of the experts still wonder what MS got out of it. Ha ha .... hey got hype.

And Google did make an offer for the Yahoo SE initially but Marissa Mayer preferred a date with Steve Balmer.. so cant help.
