I dont get how two such large companies can have such children running them. I mean comon they are acting like little school kids with all this, we'v done this, we got this, our users say this. Its all dumb people will try what they want it dont matter what they say really.
If MS say Google new OS dont work use Windows 7 are you just gunu put Google OS out the window or findout yourself?
Why can MS and G see that these tactics are just perfetic in this day and age

Interesting read. Of course it's chiefly Sieglers perception that these things are all part of some huge fight between the 2 parties... (although it is a commercial competition, so they will do their best to win "the fight" - for the $'s).
@ I-Clan: I don't see anything childish, nor any evidence of any questionable "tactics"; of course I may have missed some news somewhere (in which case - if you have another article in mind - please post it).
@ abidshahzad: In such a case - where one company has had a huge monopoly in their market (eg: MSOffice) - Competition is normally a recipe for improving quality.
