Well all know it exists ( http://news.google.com ) but does anyone know how long this is going to be in Beta for?? It appears as though it is taking a hell of a long time to come officially out of Beta.

I believe that for google, this will always be in beta. It is kind of Google's live laboratory.

the google news crawler still has a hard time differentiating between news and press releases, they still tweek it once in a while

yeah, my bet is that they will take their time to tweak it. i still notice problems with it from time to time. . .

On a related note, has anyone checked out http://labs.google.com/ ?

Google has some cool stuff in the works that you can check out in their "lab".

Apparently there is a 1.5Mb download every few weeks and that's it. Seems ok to me.
